A fade lives or dies on the blend. At Salon Salman we take the time to graduate the length smoothly from the top down to the neckline, with no lines or patches where the guards change, and finish with a crisp line-up. A taper or fade is $22, a skin fade is $25, and most take about 30 minutes. Walk-ins are welcome.
The low taper fade is the cut people search for most in Montreal, and it's easy to see why. The hair is taken short only around the ears and at the neckline, so the cut looks clean and sharp without any dramatic contrast. It works with a textured crop, curls on top, a slick back or longer flow, and it grows out gracefully.
If you want a cleaner look but work somewhere conservative, a low taper is the safe choice. Ask us to take it down to the skin at the very bottom for a little more definition.
A fade is named by where the shortest part starts to blend up. A mid fade starts around the temple and gives a balanced, all-purpose look. A high fade starts near the top of the head for maximum contrast, which suits short tops and strong hairlines. Any of them can be a skin fade, where the bottom is taken all the way down to bare skin with a foil shaver or razor.
A burst fade curves around the ear in a half-circle and leaves length at the back. It's popular with curly tops and mohawk-style cuts. A drop fade follows the head shape and dips down behind the ear toward the nape, which gives the cut a more rounded outline from the side.

A taper gradually shortens the hair at the sideburns and neckline but usually keeps some length. A fade takes that blend higher and shorter, often down to the skin. In practice the words overlap, which is why most of our clients just ask for a taper fade. Tell us where you want it to start and how short you want the bottom, and we'll take care of the rest.
A sharp line-up across the forehead, temples and beard line is what makes a fade look finished. We do line-ups with every fade, and we can add a hard part or a simple clipper design if you want something extra. Add a beard line-up for $10 to match the edges of your beard to the cut.

Excellent service the ambiance is very warm and friendly with great comfortable chairs. And wonderful soft Salon music like going back to the old Western and cowboy and Indian days. Prices are excellant w repeated returns. Now we need bars in the Salons.
